After a season filled with multiple hacks and leaks for the HBO hit, the execs over at Game of Thrones are taking it upon themselves to keep the ending a surprise. How? By filming multiple endings.
Game of Thrones is the phenomenon that’s gotten the whole world talking. The anticipation for new episodes is easily felt as the wait commences. The wait between seasons is excruciatingly long. With the great winter war on the horizon, production is pushed back to later in the year — ergo longer wait for the fans.
Season 7 included a year long wait and the bosses over at Game of Thrones saw the effects on fans. Between the hackers stealing Game of Thrones episodes, to the international HBO networks pre-airing the show, this season saw its fill of leaks and spoilers.
Game of Thrones is known for keeping spoilers to the very minimum. They want the audience to visually see what happens when it happens. With all the hacks and leaks, this season was spoiled well in advance. To prevent this during the final season, TPTB is taking matters into their own hands and filming multiple endings. Their hope is that it prevents anyone from knowing exactly how the show will end until it airs.
The six-episode final season of Game of Thrones is expected to air late next year.
